Over the last few days the salad green plants have been growing at a very fast pace. The amount of water that is being consumed, has pretty interesting to watch. Initially after we had trimmed the plants back, they were only consuming a small amount of water. But, since we added our every 2 week nutrient tablet, the growth and consumption of water has greatly increased. So much so, that I had to add around 7 cups of water to bring the water line back up to full. You can see in the pictures below, that we are going to need to harvest tonight or tomorrow. Also, some dead growth removal will be needed at that time. Looking in the Aeroponic chamber, the root growth at this point is simply amazing! It does seem that not all of the nutrient tablet has been dissolving in the water, so there seems to be areas of build-up around the chamber. But, not to the point of having an effect on the pump or the equipment at this time. It could also be residue from our tap water, which does have a bit of lime in it. It's been a very busy last few days around here, so we are grouping several days for each post. This should allow for everyone to be able to keep up with the status of each subject that we are covering. We would like to hear your thoughts, would this make it easier for you to keep up? Or, do you enjoy seeing daily posts? View next blog entry: AeroGarden: Salad Greens - Days 62 thru 65 |
