As you can see there has been quite a bit going on here at Kitchen Garden Today lately. So, I do apologize for not getting the last update on our first AeroGarden growing Salad Greens.

Back on Thursday as I had said in the previous AeroGarden blog entry, that we were going to harvest very shortly. We did go through and end up with quite a harvest from all the plants, as you can tell from photo below.

While we were harvesting, we noticed that there were quite a bit of vines growing from all the pods. They were becoming quite difficult to keep under control, so we went through and trimmed all the pod back quite a bit.

It might look pretty horrific and ugly looking, but just in the few days since we have done this there alot of new growth getting a chance to grow now. As before the older vines were holding down the younger, newer growth. It's going to take a few weeks (1-2 probably) before we are going to be able to harvest, but in the long run it will be beneficial for the garden.

Hello! Thanks for visiting my blog. I had the exact same experience when I went to harvest. Mine is looking really awful now but I'm hopeful it will bounce back.

Did you notice that your greens were really mushy even after refrigerating?

Actually when we harvest them, we put them into a Debbie Meyer Green Bag to keep them fresh. Then we put them into the crisper drawer. Even after a week, the lettuce was still quite fresh. My wife ended up making quite a salad with them.

Also, thanks for stopping by!
