Now for the most part here at Kitchen Garden Today, we cover products for indoor gardening and getting the most benefit from them. But, we have been using an Earthbox for the last year and we've had a lot of success with this product and would like to share our experiences with the Earthbox with you. The Earthbox is a product that was developed by commercial farmers, to give the ability to have their own garden without the guesswork. The Earthbox is a high-tech growing system, that allows you to grow virtually any crop that you can think of (from tomatoes and peppers, up to corn and watermelons). The Earthbox measures 30"(L) X 13 1/2"(W) X 12"(H), which means that it's compact enough to grow even in the smallest of spaces (from apartment patios and decks). When we had received our Earthbox last year, we weren't sure just how well this Earthbox system would work. Because we had tried to grow tomatoes previously and had very little success, so we figured that we wouldn't have any success with the Earthbox. Well, we have to say that we were completely wrong. We had planted (1) Cherry Tomato and (1) Beefsteak Tomato plant, and simply kept the water reservoir filled at all times. Both of the tomato plants grew very quickly, and within 3 weeks we already had flowers showing up in the plants. In the next few weeks, the plants were nearly 7ft tall and were filled with fruit. Last summer we had more tomatoes than what we knew to do with.     So this year, we have planted (1) Roma Tomato and (1) Red pepper plant in the same Earthbox. They were planted around Memorial Day. As you can see in these pictures that they are doing very well, our tomato plant has over a dozen tomato starting to ripen. Along with our pepper plant, that has a half dozen peppers that are just about ready to be harvested. The Earthbox is designed for outside gardening, but it could very be used indoors if you have the space or have a greenhouse.     We look forward to bringing you updates on our Earthbox garden for the rest of the growing season. This product is priced very reasonable and will save you money in the end, by not having to go to the grocery store and pay the cost for your favorite fruit or vegetable.
